Pembroke Yeomanry

Is this example any good? It is not the N Wales collectibles version. The seller does say it is PROBABLY a copy.

Thanks

Jerry,
It is good, as a £3 gap filler, otherwise completely reproduction!

Many thanks Andy. A learning curve for me on these so glad to have you there to steer me in the right direction, away from it in this case.

Note the fat dumpy feathers: these are found on many ebay fakes.

JerryBB 29-10-13 07:20 PM

Thanks Alan, much appreciated.

Jerry,
I did do a bit of a "Fake Spotting Guide" for POW Plume based badges, but I cannot seem to find the thread? As Alan says the "Fat Dumpy" feathers are not a good sign and also the smooth Christmas cracker "Party Hat"! I've used you image to indicate, hope you don't mind?

No problem Andy and glad to see any clues on these. The image is the sellers, not mine, I just borrowed it.;) and have now deleted it and added a link instead.

Whoops, using images without the owners consent is naughty, neither is it entirely lawful, you should post a link instead!

Andy

Fixed it.:(

Thanks Malcolm.

I had done a search on the forum before I asked and had found a few, and I assumed it was a bad one, but it does not hurt to ask.

I now have an image of a good example that I can find for easy reference in the future, thanks to you.

Hopefully Andy can find his guide to POW badges and add a link if he has the time.

The POWFs you have shown above ...are a very common repro, you will find that particular type for nearly all the Regiments that have the POWFs.

This has just come up on eBay.... total fake :D http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-WW...-/190950345280

Below are a couple of examples....
