I'm guessing the badge on the left is Indian Army Service Corps but can anyone explain why it is so large. The middle badge is for scale only. And can anyone explain the bi-metal badge.

Supply & transport Corps, 1901-1923.

Thats the size they are.

ASC

The badge on the right has blades and was originally Gold/silver gilt which has been polished or worn off.

Simon, the badge is that of the Indian Army Service Corps (1923-1935) and looks to be a pagri badge.

I think that badge is a bit of a bodge job. The blades have been added in place of the original lugs.

Bodge job

I suspect you are right but it does look like it has been worn anyway.

Well, it looks to me as though the blades have been replaced, but from the photo I cannot see where any lugs (loops) were.

Maybe a closer pic could show more?

Rob, back in the good old days I had a large collection of ASC/RASC/RCT badges which I collected over many years and the only badges with blades that I ever came across were the OSD bronzed ones. All the full dress gilt/silver plate ones were lugged.

Gold gilt badges

I have an officers Cambridgeshire Regt badge in gold gilt with blades, but this may be peculiar to that unit.
