Australian Army Ranks

Can anyone please let me know what type of uniform, units these ranks are from and a time period?
Many thanks, Bill |
The last three badges look like the ones issue to the Women's Royal Australian Army Corps (WRAAC). Not exactly sure when first worn (But suspect mid 70's) but I certainly saw them being worn in the mid 80's.

The first one is a normal sergeant or staff sergeant (latter with crown) set of chevrons for general duty dress (greens), certainly from the early 1960s right up into the 1990s when Austcam became the standard general duty dress.
L1A1 is correct about the WRAAC use for the remainder, I'm sure the gold/silver ones were worn on the green winter jacket, the light green ones on the shirt. Probably same period as above. |
Many thanks guys,
I have a couple more that are larger than these ones and come in pairs to be separated for wear. Thanks for your help, Bill |
Nos 2 & 3, silver and gold on dark green may be for a bandsman's uniform.
I think the Royal Victorian Regiment Pipes and Drums had a dark green jacket. Regards, Tony |

Nice collection Oz, you don't often see much of that pre-Auscam stuff around now.

FYI All,
Here are some recent issue Mess Dress rank boards. These are images of the items in their NSN issue bags, as a form of provenance. We will take further images of the gold and silver finished items for inclusion in our current work on Volume 3 (Rank and Trade insignia) in a week or two. I will be able to post further images for you all here then. https://charliebravobooks.com/2019/0...-carousel-1664 Regards Mark https://charliebravobooks.com/ Co Author of: “Metal Uniform Embellishments of the Australian Army” Post 1953 (the 'QEII' era) Vol 1: Insignia for Corps and Schools Etc and Vol 2: Insignia for Units and Regiments. |
