Some New CCF Badges

3 Attachment(s)
For the last few days I've been involved in the Army's Annual STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) camp for members of the cadet forces. Spotted a few badges that I haven't seen before (others may already have seen them)
1) Sir Christopher Hatton Academy CCF (Wellingborough) - the unit wears the cap badge of the Royal Anglian Regiment.
2)Birkenhead High School Academy CCF. The unit is affiliated to the RAMC and is rather unusually, based in an all girls school
3) Royal Russell School - affiliated to REME

Enjoy

Royal Anglian

Thanks for this Paul, that’s one I didn’t know about, will have to see if I can find one. Thanks

Like the Birkenhead Girls School patch. Being affiliated to the RAMC would that mean they are taught first aid and/or nursing subjects?

😂 true story !

Terry, in answer to your question ALL UK based cadet units teach first aid as a part of their syllabus . Most cadet units are affiliated to either their County Regiments or the local army reserve unit

Paul, Thanks for the reply. So, the Girls School has an RAMC unit close by, but that does not mean they are taught a specific curriculum oriented toward medical?

This thread got my interest and I spent a very enjoyable few hours watching assorted ACF (some may have been CCF) videos on YouTube.

The CCF Contingent is BHSA is almost certainly affiliated to 208 (Liverpool) Field Hospital - a nearby Army Reserve unit. The CCF unit will follow the standard syllabus which includes First Aid but also Drill, Skill at Arms, Shooting, Fieldcraft and Navigation amongst other subjects

Thanks Paul, Gives a better understanding of how your cadet programs work. I was genuinely impressed seeing all of the young people in the videos, especially giving their best efforts to marching.

Who approves new badges in the ACF / CCF?

Alan O 29-10-21 04:49 PM

Unlike the Regular Army there are no approving authorities for school designs.

Strictly speaking any badge that is going to be worn on army uniform (including ACF and CCF badges) should go through the Army Dress Committee for approval - I emphasise the “should” - many (mainly CCFs) don’t bother and just do their own thing (I know this from personal experience!).
