I messaged the seller, he was grateful for the heads up and he has adjusted the price.

Just amended price. Now £4.99........ a great reduction from £499 makes it even more of a bargain. Perhaps he is watching you Home Guard...

When listing an item for sale (or bidding) if a comma is used [£4,99] rather than a full stop [£4.99] then eBay ignores the comma and reads it as £499

I actually did suspect it was a typo when looking at his other items, but was just wanting to have a bit of fun.
