Unknown Belgian Badge

Hi folks,
I got this badge today from a Belgian Para Commando that I work with, he has no idea what this is. Looks like armoured or Lancers to me. Has 2 pins oon the back so may be a breast badge. Can anyone help with this one? Thanks in advance as always Regards, Bill :) |

Yep, Marc's right.
Because this is silvered, it is a onderofficier/sous-officier (NCO) badge. |
Many thanks for your input.
This badge is still being worn in Belgium as the lad who got it bought it from their equivalent of a NAAFI type shop at his old base. He gave me this along with a few other badges that he bought last week for me whilst on leave. Is the Armoured School still in existance? Regards Bill Hi guys, Had it confirmed by a Belgian Army WO that it is a current Armoured School Beret badge, asworn by him before he was posted into NATO here with us :) Thanks for your input. As far as I know the armoured school no longer exists (seewww.mil.be/cav/subject/index.asp?LAN=fr&ID=449) however, with Belgian military being what it is, since the new badges came in (sigh), some soldiers may well have kept their old unit badges.
As for badges being sold in shops on bases, I can quite believe this since there are just many different types (in the 1960s-early 1980s we had some 200+ different types of badge) that many soldiers get them as souvenirs. BP |
