1907 Bayonet markings

4 Attachment(s)
Hi all

I've been offered a 1907 bayonet at what I think is a very fair price, but I have next to no knowledge of the various markings, and what they represent.
From what I can work out, it was made by SANDERSON, and has the Broad Arrow and what I presume is a Bend Mark (X). Could the "16" be in reference to "1916"? And is there any way to tell if it's been refurbished?
Any help or info much appreciated!

Cheers

Colin

ps Sorry for the lousy pictures!

X is the bend mark/proof of blade apparently.

Dated October 1916. Scabbard fittings, crossguard, bolts and pommel have lost original finish/been over cleaned but still a good bayonet, blade in original condition. Looks to have had work done or been reissued 1926, cant remember which off the top of my head. We have to remember that this was the bayonet on issue throughout the life of the SMLE so well into WWII for British use. Regards, Paul.

Thank you, gentlemen! :) Your help is much appreciated!
Bayonets are well outside my normal collecting field, but I'd like to have one in my collection, and based on your comments I'll probably go for this one!
It might not be the best example out there, but it's got some history to it, and being originally a 1916 model it fits in nicely with my Great War collection.

Cheers guys!
