Certainly very unusual particularly in its construction. It also has a very strange central motif which can be viewed 'as is' or in a cryptic fashion. Almost certainly intentional as the designer must have noticed the face.

No idea sadly. Is the winged lions indicative of Middle East or Asian origin perhaps?

It looks like that crown could be a marriage to me, seems to sit awkwardly between the winged lions, looks uneven (closer to the left lion), colour of the metal looks different (more coppery) to the rest of the badge, and finally it has much finer detail. How is it attached?

Is this like one of those 3D pictures from the 90’s where to see it you have to unfocus your eyes, hold the page to your face and then slowly move it back? ;)

Genuinely can’t see a face... but it’s probably me.

To me it looks like the sort of thing which would be used to embellish a picture frame or door knocker or something. Doesn't look military to me.
Cheers,
Alex

Definetly shako plate , see rear fittings , thought may be Persian / India regt ...

I would have to agree with Alex on this one. Looks like some sort of ornamentation with wire prongs on rear to fix it to something, but I doubt very much a Shako or any form of military headgear.

Agreed - fashion item, not military.
