WW2 British made wing used by Rhodesians ?
 

I have recently bought a small collection of Rhodesian badges. Amongst them was this wing which the seller claimed was a WW2 British made wing which was used by the Rhodesian forces. Now this may be so, but can anyone more versed in the detail of British airborne insignia confirm that it is a genuine WW2 era British wing ? The reverse has an aged look and looks as if its been unpicked from a uniform.This may of course be the work of a clever faker aiming to add a look of age and legitimacy. I hope not.

I also think its a standard 1970s British wing, not WW2.

I'm told that this wing was used in Rhodesia but impossible to prove that this particular one was.

Hi Mike, the odd soldier in Rhodesia has been noted as wearing his earlier UK earned wing, so this may be possible with yours. There was a chap in the Guard Force for instance who wore his Fleet Air Arm wings

Some former members of the British Army would wear their parachute wings, after they enlisted in the Rhodesian Army, if their new role had no requirement for parachute qualification meaning they were unable to attend the Rhodesian PTS to earn their Rhodesian wings.

That particular badge was worn by members of the British Army for over a generation, you would need to actually know the identity of it's original owner to be able to answer that question.
