Unidentified Commando patch

Can anyone identify this patch, please? It came with a bunch of unrelated French badges, but I don't know what it is.

It is a US Air Force Air Commando Unit... do not recall the number... they did serve in Vietnam but unsure as to time period on your patch.

Many thanks for your response -- it didn't occur to me that it might have been American. I went online and found out it belonged to 6th Fighter Squadron (Commando) which operated in a counterinsurgency role flying various aircraft from 1962 to 1969. The patch I have seems to have been made in SE Asia. All in all a very satisfactory result, so thanks again.

That is a really nice patch for being in theater made, as some were. However, they also made really funny and crude ones. Here is a picture of some of mine from Vietnam for the 101st that I had in my old airborne collection. The first row are US made, but can easily tell the theater made ones in the 2nd and 3rd rows. Those three were called
The Choking Chicken" patch.

The last few were 82nd patches made for their counterparts in the 101st.

Its the USAF's 6th Special Operations Squadron now. That one is probably one of the earlier iterations from the Vietnam era.

Thanks. Yes, the patch is also a bit different now, from what I can see online.
