Hi, I got this bronze collar badge described as AFV Training Center. My understanding is that they had a different design, as shown, did they have two designs or is it something else? The badge is a totally different style to any other Canadian badges I have either collar or cap, any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks in advance Mike, and wishing you all a better New Year.

Found one on Canadian eBay :

"Canadian Armoured Fighting Vehicles Training Centre WW II era KC cap badge. 1940 Mazeas S.56."

A quick look at the forum "badge registry" shows two variations , C.56 (same as your one) and C.56A

Hi Mike, thanks but I was saying the bronze collar is different and doesn't match other versions. The AFV school type is the bronze collars show in the Canadian badge register and that I showed labeled Borden, that was the camp which the school used, hope this makes it clearer, thanks again Mike

Canadian Armoured

Hi Mike, If you look at Canadian Military Insignia, pick General Topics, pick Mazeas Corrections page 7 last post. C56 is Canadian Armoured Corps.

regards John

Thanks guys , it was pure guess work from me based on the link/photo in post #3 .

"Regimental Badges Cap and Shoulders, worn by Russell Smith, Armoured Corp Training Centre."

"So they sent me to this armoured corps training centre to learn to be an instructor in weapons and tank gunnery and small weapons and so on. And I did extremely well there because I was young and interested. They made application for me to be transferred to them as an instructor."

Sorry for the misinformation. :o

The Registry looks really useful! Appreciate the link to it.
