What that can be: Indian Para?
2 Attachment(s)
Here is a badge I know nothing about except it is quite big with a 105mm width and 45mm height.
New condition, the blue shows some white. Any idea? Attachment 209574 Attachment 209575 |
Looks modern made Indian para.

Thank you.
Does any one else could give some more comments please? |
My comment is that it looks brand new, so 2 options spring to mind.
1. Its what the Indian Army wear now? Dont know. 2. Its a blatent copy of a WW2 badge. regards |
Thqnk you.
It is indeed new (but do not know if made recently). Aren't the dimensions strange being so big? |
Para Badge
Good day,
I'm more inclined to think it is Pakistan Army. All my reference material shows the Pakistani para quals as being oversize in relation to the Brit qual. The Indian para qual is roughly the same size as the Brit one. Pakistani para quals originally were embroidered on khaki but later were embroidered on black. Hope this gives you an avenue to explore for an answer. Good luck. Ian |
Thank you, that is helpful (as all comments really).
I will try to look for Pakistani samples to compare. |

Other than the colours I don't know how similar those wings would be to the one shown. (He was smothered in badges and medal ribbons and buying more badges at a little non-runner vehicle used as a badge shop). |
Pakistani in my opinion too. The way the rigging lines go up into the canopy and curl round and down again is a characteristic of wings made in the Indian sub- continent and it corresponds with other Pakistani patterns. The size is also a characteristic of items made in the bazeers of the sub-continent, although the Indians are tending to be more uniform in their wing patterns issued nowadays, which do equate with British sizing.
Hope that helps, Colin (Editor of Chute & Dagger UK) |
Funny as I was in Sarajevo in 1999 (second time).
I had a look at website and there not much to see. Nonetheless some badges are consistent regarding shape and color but I could not get any info on size(those are really big). So thank you all: Pakistan seems quite probable. |
