Early RN cap badge?

Hi All
I just got this bullion QV Crown. Could this be an early RN cap badge or am I being wishful? Very similar to the one shown in Coleman's book so I've shown it next to that as a comparison. The one in Coleman's book show.s silver thread as well but there are mistakes in his book so that isn't necessarily written in stone.
Cheers,
Alex

Alex,

It is a standard Regimental Sergeant Majors arm badge, pre 1902, worn on the lower right arm.

Thanks Simon. I thought there wasn't much hope unless it is basically the same as the RN badge. I know very little about QVC cloth badges. Is there any value to these, I might sell it then?
Cheers,
Alex
