Good Afternoon,
I would be grateful for any information about the attached photograph of a soldier I believe is a Scots Guards General Officer. Dose anybody know who he might be? What his rank might be? I know most of the medals he is wearing but not the honour before his DSO or the dark cross breast badge. Can anyone identify these please?

I don't know exactly when the photo was taken, but I would hazard a guess that it was taken late twenties - mid thirties judging by his medals.

Thank
billyh

Not at all sure but by facial features rather than research ....... Lord Methuen?

The award before the DSO is the British Order of St Michael & St George and the darker one below is the Russian Order of St Anne with Swords (it is a Red Cross) The ribbon for that one would be red with narrow yellow edge stripes

Picture taken in late 30s or early 40s at least.
CB CMG DSO Order of At Anne
Queen's South Africa Medal with 5 bars
King's South Africa Medal with 2 bars
1914-15 Star Trio
1935 Jubilee
1937 Coronation.

Tricky but not impossible to track...

Thanks for the information so far. I got those last two medals very confused with earlier ones!
