Hi South African members,
I don't have Owen's book and would be grateful for information on this badge, made by Firmin, London.
When was it worn and who by?
Thanks,
John

This badge was worn by the South African Railways (SAR). In Afrikaans - Suid Afrika Spoorwee (SAS). It was worn on a peaked cap by civilian Guards, Conductors and others who wore a uniform during the course of their duties. I do not know the exact dates of wear but do know that it existed in the 1940s up to the 1980s. Hope this helps.

Thanks for that, Steven.
It's an attractive badge.
Regards,
John
