Notice the 'Poland' title under the RAF badge.

The placement of the title better explains to me at least the distinction between OR's and Officers titles. As I understood a straight title for OR's and curved for Officers. Straight as to be sewn directly below the rectangular RAF sleeve eagle. Makes more sense now at least as it pertains to Polish RAF volunteers.
