Trade Badges in various metals.....
Hi,
am looking for info & dates ,etc . for the use of Australian trade badges, etc found in different metals. The types like MG ,etc ,with 'Olde English' (Gothic ?) letters in wreath type, plus wheelwright ,sigs, pioneers, drummers, etc. These all seem to be found in brass, blackened(bronze ?) & wm variations.?? Also the cap & arm badges for the Artillery.Bz/black & brass types with 'Australia' scroll.( have some info on these, but would like to know if it is correct.) Would like to know reasons & period of use, extent of varieties issued ,etc. Anyone able to shed some light on these? Also Artillery Bz collar with 'Spes.Bona' scroll (modern with pins & butterfly clip fasteners). Is this Aussie ? Cheers ! Steve |
SPES BONA is a South Africa University Regiment motto.

Have you tried:
“British Army Proficiency Badges” by Edwards & Langley? I'm thinking that the dates may be shared with the British army. |
