Some SAP badges

Sharing a few SAP items although I'm unsure of the badge on the right which just has 'South Africa'.
The wm Constabulary badge originally had 2 loops but for some reason these were removed and it has been re-slidered. Change of headdress possible?
The left-hand badge looks an officer's version as it is in burnished gilt.
Evidently, the lower badge is Natal Police, but I still associate it with SA.
I omitted the title, so have scanned separately.

Nice group of badges. The one on the right is a military one, worn by the SA Instructional Corps from the mid-1920s to the mid-1950s. The original wearer of the badge may have been an ex-policeman though, as many members of the colonial police forces were transferred to the Union Defence Forces in 1913.

The lower badge is indeed Natal Police, and most definitely associated with SA. Natal became a province of SA in 1910, and its policemen were later embodied in the SAP, the UDF, and the Prisons Department.

Thanks, Arthur.
I also have a small and varied selection of buttons, but these do not scan well, I'm afraid.

I agree, a nice group of badges. How do these badges relate to the 'speared lion' patterns?

Cheers

I believe the 'speared lion' pattern are British SA Police and earlier. A beautiful badge and evocative of Imperial times. Unfortunately, all the badges of this pattern that I had occasion to acquire were suspect. I leave further comment to the experts.

The 'speared lion' was indeed the British SA Police badge, but they were no relation to the SAP. The BSAP were the Rhodesian police force.

Thank you both, very helpful :)
