Not my area but picked this up at a decent price ,i hope. There is any maker marks that I can see.
What do the more learned think on it ?

Very nice badge, these pattern badges are one of my favourites. Is the green enamel disc present behind the thistle, difficult to see from the photo. In my opinion these are one of the more common officers badges which seem to appear on dealer sites and sites like eb*y and the prices can vary hugely so to get one at a decent price is always a win.
Cheers,
Alex

Unfortunately, theres no enamel disc Alex. What sort of age is it ?
Theres a mark behind the centre,it could be 2 scratches or possibly an 11.

Nice badge Mike, no idea on age though?

In my opinion it is probably pre WWII but it could be as old as Victorian. The Royal Scots used the same pattern up to 1935 (?) and there has been little change.
