This example is a lot more coppery than the others I have seen, so before I offer it up for sale does anyone have any doubts about it? I personally think its OK.

Thanks Rob

53 views and no negative comments, so I will assume its OK.

Yes thank you I did see that thread, the price on ebay lately seems to be averaging a bit over £200 so I have tried it on there.

Hello,
I saw one recently in the Somme in a trade fair, It was the first time that I saw one.
This one was in white metal with 1 hole at each end ...
Unfortunately I did not take pictures.
Many Chinese coolies have died in northern France where there are many graves in military cemeteries.

have a nice day in UK!
We are the best at football Ball! :D:D

The price was around 250 €
Not in my small budget.

There seems to be several on eBay at the moment. A seller in east Anglia has sold several and is listing again.
Would not touch it with barge pole.
He peddles fakes, good ones at that.
Do not buy off him.

on ebay. One of many. Barge pole springs to mind.

That’s the badge that started this thread is it not? Does anyone have one of these to show with provenance as I’m still baffled as to what makes a good one? Not a scooby about this badge but purple discolouring generally isn’t something I’d go for but that’s a personal preference of mine and by no means a judgement on the badge. Rob did ask if anyone has any doubts to be fair.

Cheers,
Luke

Alan are you saying mine is definitely fake or has your link moved to mine because the other one has now finished and ebay links don't work after an item is finished?

Alan, please make yourself clear, if this is a fake I need to remove it before someone bids on it.

Show us your originals so we can see what's what!

I'm sure I got this for nothing about 25 years back as I they are such poor items.

Nice, thanks for posting it.

Some good photos in the article. Sadly not high enough resolution to get a definitive answer. There’s also a picture of a CLC badge in the In Flanders Field Museum. One would like to think they have a genuine badge but as the IWM shows on many occasions that can be a dangerous assumption.

The ‘lost’ film sounds very interesting.

Cheers,
Luke

Thanks for the link, Luke. Some great pictures there.
Here is a link to another Chinese Labour Corps badge:
