They all look good to me except the silver (or whatever it is) plated example, which I don't know of. The one with the slider attached to the top scroll is strange (to me), but appears OK.

So they had a green patch behind the beret ?

They shouldnt have been lumped with the R/Anglian's in my opinion.

Whats with the black tiger collar ?

Neil s 16-01-21 07:41 PM

green yes
The Black is very tarnished silver

Restrikes-ok 16-01-21 09:22 PM

Greens interesting when their facing colour was grey

Interested to hear your reasons as to why not to group under the Royal Anglians. Doesn’t this depend upon ones collecting reference period?

Hi Neil - The WM collar badge was worn by ORs of the 4th and 5th TF Battalions from their formation in 1908. A silver plate version of these was worn post the 1920s when they became part of of the TA through to 1951.

Thanks for sharing your 'Tigers', cheers Dean

Does it have another brazing hole in the middle of the bottom
scroll Neil? I don’t like the ears but likely to be a manufacturers variation. Here is what I would be looking for https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...ictureid=62376

Cheers Dean

Hello Dean
Only two vents at the bottom but the badge metal and general construction look ok it's more the tiger's face mostly the eyebrows difficult to see in the picture I am away for a week when I get back I will try to post a better view

I saw this offering on Ebay a couple of years ago - anodised cap badge on beret and anodised collars. I kept the image luckily. So it would appear they wore a green 'tombstone' backing.

Regards all

Bess
