Some help with a medal would be nice
 

I don't normally collect medals, they are a world unto themselves. However I pick up the odd one that is mixed in Wirth badge lots.

So it is with this miniature medal. Green ribbon with the Malaya clasp.

Can anyone help me on this please.

It's a general service medal which was awarded for the Malaya campaign.

The ribbon has become very faded over time and it should look like this:

A nice quality medal:). Probably silver, unlike some of the later stuff.:eek:

A GSM 1918 Army and Royal Air Force, (the Royal Navy having it's own Naval GSM 1915 at that time, both being replaced by the GSM 1962).
