That would be an NCO arm badge.

The arm badge looks like the collar, with "QDG" in gothic script, in the centre, replacing "Bays".

Mick,

In last photo, it appears the soldier to the right is from 'C' (Kent and Sharpshooters Yeomanry) Squadron, Royal Yeomanry, by his collar badge, and his green cap. It also appears he has a small white fern leaf on his upper arm.

Thanks for the positive response. And for identifying the white on the uniform as a fern leaf. I didn't know if it was a mark on the photo or not.
