Formation Signs Album
Hello Gang,
I've just updated my WWII Formation Signs album and wondered if you more advanced collectors might take a look and give me feedback. I'd specifically like to know if you see any klinkers lurking there. (Reverses of any of the badges can be posted if required.) Also, as this marks the near fulfillment of my initial goal, do you have any suggestions about where to go from here? https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...p?albumid=2968 |

Dob,
In my opinion - very good -with just one exception - the printed X Corps in Image 1 I would not touch with a bargepole. Nearly all second pattern X Corps signs are EonF, very small and "tombstone" shaped. Examples of both patterns attached. The Brigades in Image 6 are particularly nice examples. Thanks for your comments, bc and Mike. I've had my doubts about the printed X Corps. Would you believe it came from Amazon, of all places? Supposedly a government surplus purchase lot, the seller also had a number of printed 161st Infantry Brigade signs, which I didn't buy. Always a sucker for a good story, I guess...

Here is a screen shot of the item description from Amazon. This was two years ago...

Is this one better, Mike? I thought I was being smart, displaying the one reputed to have come from government stores...

Here's an image of the first pattern X Corps sign being worn by an AD Corps Dental Orderly.
