KRRC OR service dress insignia

All,
I note that the KRRC OR appears to normally have worn red backings to their cap badges and shoulder titles, but not always.
Additionally, ww1 photos show standard khaki service dress chevrons and metal trade badges instead of black on red.
Ww2 BD blouses however usually show the black on red rank and trade insignia. What about between the wars? Did they revert back to the black on red for khaki service dress or continue wearing standard khaki until ww2?
Thanks,

CB

The pre-war, black on red full-dress versions of rank badges and with them trade and good conduct badges were not authorised for service dress until 1924. a concession which compensated for their loss following the abolition of full dress. Until that date all badges on service dress were supposed to be in drab khaki.

Red and black badges were worn on battle dress in WW2 but usually not on the version worn in action for the obvious reasons of camouflage and security.

Thanks for that Jon,
This clears things up a bit. I presume the KRRC and the other rifle regiments wore drab embroidered trade badges as well, or did they wear the brass badges until 1924?
