General's Hat Badge
 

I have this inter-war general's hat with a badge that looks like it has a navy blue wool background. Is this indicative of anything or is it just faded or a maker's variation. Any comments would be appreciated.

Hello Dave, nice cap, pretty sure it’s the background colour on Generals caps and not indicative to anything specific, others will confirm hopefully.

Thanks for the comment. I thought the lighter blue background on the hat badge differed from the usual black background and therefore a bit non-standard. Probably indicative of nothing.
