Collection woes

I've recently got my dad's collection of British and Commonwealth cap badges, 3LP cases crammed with cards with about 12 badges on each, earliest is1774 to 1958. I need help listing and sorting. Please

thanks for the offers of help, its a case of steeling my self to do this, lots of memories of trawling 'junk' shops, mum waiting patently.
I intend to photograph and list each card, luckily he had already listed the British Infantry cards. Others seem to be laid out i.e. Royal Engineers, Royal Marines etc but there are cards that appear to be Scotish / Irish, Commonwealth, 'Others'.
Like I said, thanks, but it will take time

Do you intend to keep the collection mate?

Hello mate,
The reason for my question, is the forum consistently has new members who join, in order to gain knowledge of items in their possession, to then sell on.
This is not a problem, but when members spend a long time providing detailed answers to new members, only for the said items to turn up on fleabay for example, it seems a little crass.
Please dont take this as a personal attack, but i feel that addressing ones intentions early on, is honorable, and will see you obtain the information you seek.
If you intend to continue the collection (with so many memories tied up, i am sure you will), then this site is the best place to find helpful lads and ladies.
Kind regards
Jon

Your Collection

Welcome to the Best Forum out there. I'm from Central Ontario as well and active in a couple of areas in Military Badges. If you would like I could put you in contact with some other collectors and I could possibly help you in identifying what you may have.Belong to a couple of Collecting Associations where members could help you. Keith
