Indian Army Educational Corps

Both Minden and QMS Militaria have on sale badges that are supposedly of the Indian Army Educational Corps in use from June 47-Aug-47. However the badge they shown is according to me not the correct version. This one according to me is post-Independence

I've dealt with both Rod Flood and Mike the Quartermaster for many years now and am sure its because they do not know about it. Ive written to them about it.

The June-47-Aug 47 badge has "Indian" in it...Will try and attach a pic of the one I have...

The badge. This is heavy silver made by a silversmith 'Philips' in New Delhi. A lucky find in Bangalore

Very nice find indeed!

Yes, the missing "Indian" may indicate a post British badge. As we all know, 1948 did not mean that all badges were changed however, and many pre independence badges continued in use into the 1950s in both India and Pakistan.

I guess these things are sometimes hard to pin down, but it was Ashok Nath who told me what it was when hev was here in Bangalore a couples of years ago. I reconfirmed it again with him after this post just to be sure I was not mixing things up.
