Not often found together these days sadly war medal missing. L/cpl Bowels victory medal is to MGC

Thanks for sharing, Stephen. I'm guessing the British War Medal was sold for its silver content when times were tough.

Superb. I think these souvenirs in a tin are so evocative of a soldier's service.If the badges could speak they would have some tales to tell.

Thank you guys I do like this little lot that have been together for such a long time and yes if only they could talk.
Alan depending on the angle you view the badge from it looks.to be a 2 then from other angle a 3 I think thick paint is the issue here.

It should be 1802 rather than 1902. 1802 was date of formation but 1902 ones were made possibly mistaking a Boer war date.

Spot on with your assessment. Quite a hard title to find is the First Surrey Rifles.
