Canadian 2nd WW1

Sorry if I got the wrong section. I would like to know the significance of the WW1 2nd Battalion Canadian Infantry and the two styles of cap badge, the simple "2" and the "Semper Paratus" style
Thanks in advance to which ever expert comes up with the answer

Tony

Hi Tony, while I don't know the answer (but am confident someone will) according to Babin's reference book, there were actually 3 different badges for the Eastern Ontario Battalion.

I'd be interested to hear why as well.

hopefully an answer will come in soon

Cheers, Tim

Hello Faubourg,
Seeing your avatar, I wonder: Are you French?

If I understood your question, You can find pictures of the different badges of the 2nd Eastern Ontario, you can consult the section "C.E.F" of this forum. But no doubt you already know.

2nd Eastern Ontario was part of the 1st Brigade of the 1st Canadian Infantry Division.
He participated in the Battle of Vimy April 9, 1917 right of the Canadian Army, with the conquest of the villages of Thelus and Farbus near my home.

A french collector.

Morning all. Their is no explanation for the change in design in the archive files. This is a bit of a mystery that still has to be explained.
