Hey :)

So I know what this is but my question is why are there so few of them they seem very scarce and it seems they should be as common as the 1st and the 2nd versions???

And its not mines

The scarcity is the same for the cap badges. I can only assume that they bought more of the 1st Bn ones at the outset and that the 3rd Bn badges and buttons.

All 3 were raised at the same time so there is no obvious reason. Photos in 1915 do show the Pals badges worn alongside the single scroll badge so I can only assume that less were bought and so less survived.

Were they only issued to the original member of the Battalions and did the 3rd Battalion suffer from a greater number of casualties?

Whilst we are on the subject I have been meaning to ask, were there any Officers quality badges or buttons produced for any of the Battalions?

So it's a bit of a mystery and extends to the badges too then :confused:
