Badges On Battle Dress Book
For some years I have been mentioning a book I have been writing on cloth badges. I can now report that it is finished and will go to press later this month. Publication date is 28th February. I am selling it myself but am talking to specialist booksellers who may stock it
Entitled Badges on Battle Dress ; An illustrated history of the cloth insignia worn on khaki and jungle green by Britain's Armed Forces 1939 to 1967 the book is in two volumes, runs to 1,200 pages and includes over 5,000 cloth badge images and 500 photos of the badges being worn. It has a Foreword by General The Lord Dannatt, Chief of the General Staff, 2006 to 2009. Cover price is £150 pounds. Delivery is likely to be by courier as Royal Mail prices are exorbitant. Sample pages to follow in the next couple of days. To receive further details email me at bob19391967@yahoo.co.uk Jon Mills |

I have now received the proofs of the covers for the two volumes which are attached.
Thanks to all those who have expressed an interest so far. Jon |
Jon,
Looks great! Put me on the list. Tim |
To avoid the confusion caused to another Forum member there are two covers as the book is in two volumes. The signs and photos on each cover reflect the contents.

Swallowing hard, but have to express interest.

Ditto, will be looking forward to it. Hopefully posting to the US is not a problem, other than the expense.

Jon, I too have been waiting for this book (books) and will definitely be purchasing a copy. How will we deal with overseas shipment?

Duplicate post, sorry, don't know how to delete...

Jon - Well done. You must be well pleased with finishing this project.
I look forward to purchasing a copy. Paul |
Jon, I am aware of the enormous work you’ve put into this. It will be a seminal work and I can’t wait to buy it.
Jon. |
My thanks to all who have replied for the encouraging response.
If all goes well my book will be reviewed in the first issue this year of The Bulletin of the Military Historical Society so potential purchasers can get an unbiased opinion. Jon |
Well done. A question: which "khaki" do you mean?
As in KD, the original khaki, or as in Service Dress/ Battle Dress, officially "drab" when introduced in 1902? I am tempted to joke "a grey area", but I didn't, did I? Good luck with reviews. |
