ASC Army Service Corps Silver Medal?

Asking for your help with what this item is please.

It is an ASC item in Sterling Silver -I thought it was a pin badge without its fixings at first, but actually there is a tiny ring the top. The ring is so small I'm not sure what would go through it?

Any help welcomed, and thank you in advance.

Watch fob perhaps?

What size is it ?

Looks to me like there has been a pin removed from left & right, so probably a sweetheart brooch that has been converted to a watch fob ornament.
Cheers,
Alex

It is about 1.5 inches tall - right size for a badge, but back is totally smooth so hard to imagine that a pin & a fixing have been removed?

Also should mention that the loop at the top is not a later modification. Just seems too small a hole for a fob?

You can see the word Stirling, and where the brooch fitting was, if it’s a sweetheart. Some one has drilled a hole in the cross of the ord, probably after the brooch fitting broke. So broken Stirling silver sweetheart badge would be my guess.

Definitely looks like it has been drilled rather then produced that way.

I've got a very small British Legion 'dangler'/pendant badge that was manufactured with a small loop on top to put a ring for pin or chain.

I may be miles out - but has it just been 'tacked' to something. I guess we have all seen some badges defaced this way and may explain why reverse fittings removed to lay flat on a shield, board, picture frame, or some such display..

Thanks for the helpful replies - on looking closely, the hole at the top looks like it has been punched through rather crudely. I think you are correct that this is in fact a vandalised sweetheart badge...
