Yorkshire Hussars ??

Went to see Downton Abbey the movie earlier today. The story is based on a visit of the King and Queen to the Abbey and during the visit the King was to inspect the Yorkshire Hussars so I thought this is going to be interesting to see how they portray the Yeomanry.

Quite simple really they had the Royal Horse Artillery complete with their guns being the Yorkshire Hussars.

Never mind I don’t suppose sadly the majority of the audience would even have heard of the Yorkshire Hussars.

Good number of female members- was it noticeable? Regards, Paul.
PS I like period drama but disappointment often happens if I see a 1908 webbing belt worn the wrong way up.

My Wife told me the Royal Artillery Band was there as well.

TV productions

I think that most production for TV are like this, no attention to detail.

World on fire!

In last nights World on Fire the German machine gun being used looked like an MG42 to me, pre Dunkirk, it must have been a prototype!

The other thing that I couldn't work out was how did two Polish refugee/Partisans come to be in a wood where the B.E.F. were fighting the Germans.

It is only a tv drama series, it is not real.
