C C f a little more difficult 12 independent schools found in Wiltshire and 1 state school which may have c c f unit A list of these is in my album ' to date 4 unit cap badges identified Not sure as yet how many of these schools have Cadet units-work in progress
Could any member with an interest in cadets add any information

David

CCF units that I know of in Wiltshire are as follows:-
Godolphin School in Salisbury - all girls school badged RA

Marlborough College - they are affiliated to the brigade of Guards but wear their own cap badge of a blue red blue backing on a khaki beret

Warminster School who wear the Rifles cap badge on a Rifle Green beret

South Wiltshire University Technical College - their CCF only has a Naval Section

Maltravers School CCF at Westbury - initially badged Rifles - now badged Army Air Corps (badge worn on light blue AAC beret)

I suspect that Maltravers were originally paired with Warminster School and wore the Rifles badge until they were given independent status at which point they elected for an affiliation with the AAC

Hope that helps

PL

PS just a bit of additional information - in CCF units that have an RAF section the Cadets wear the RAF cap badge not the ATC cap badge

P L many thanks
I had the Maltravers school badges to Air Training Corps not R A F also noticed that they had rebadged to A A C
South Wiltshire University Technical College , one that I had not listed
Perhaps you could look at the board in my album for any other errors

South Wiltshire University Technical College badges will soon be much harder to find as it has just been announced that the College in Salisbury is to close after just four years.

Hi David, Sorry I don't. I didn't even know that they had a Cadet unit associated with the College until this post. I only mentioned that the College was closing as it has been in the local new very recently.

Andrew
