welsh horse on lugs

I think I finally got a good one, even if it is a dug up example, on lugs

Hello Jerry,
That is a very interesting badge, examples with loops were certainly made and seem few and far between these days, I think there was a blackened, rather, than bronze, gilding metal version made with loops. Where did this example come from? Frank Quote:

Frank,
I did a lot of searching on here and found at least 3 or 4 examples with lugs to which it seems to be identical. It was bought from ebay, the seller is based in county down. |

I quite like that, Jerry, it appears to have already been a brooch, before being altered again.

It's a good original. If the lugged version is of cap badge size then I suggest that it may well be an Officer's cap badge. PY. :) .
|
PY,
Thanks for confirming my thoughts. It is cap badge sized. |

I picked up another of these, this time not a dug up example which was good to find.

Very nice and a very good price at £20.

Hi Jerry,
Here are 3 Welsh Horse from my collection. The brooched one looks rather as though it was made that way? Regards Denis |
