South African Police button (Y/N)

Many years ago I obtained the buttons from a big international police collection. Each button had an ID sticker, but unfortunately the previous owner's records had been lost.
This button sat with South African police buttons in that box.
I know it is a stock design for US Police forces.

It is brass, 22 mm, no back mark and is not USA manufacture.
Does anyone know if it is South African?

I would suggest either USA or Canadian.
