Anodised Queens own Highlanders cuckoo in the nest!

Two Queens own Highlanders badges.
The one on the right purchased today is maker marked F&S, a nice badge.....
Made me realise I've got a cuckoo in the nest with my existing example on the left, it having an over sized thistle and crown portion between the antlers.
Any suggestions what the larger thistle/crown might be, it's lugged N/S.
Tony.

Is the crown and thistle on the left a sporran badge maybe

You may actually find that the F&S mark dates from when the badge was worn in the TOS by the Highlanders rather than the QOHldrs.
