Gentlemen

Chay,
I am afraid that it is indeed a restrike IMHO, sorry. regards |
Hi Simon,
Oh no lol , these are so heavily restruck it’s unbelievable Kind regards Chay |
Get some more views before binning it but I am pretty sure .
regards |
Simon
I don’t collect RAF RFC stuff as a rule but I thought the white stuff around the lugs was a positive sign ? Kind regards Chay |
Chay,
The white stuff is just polish residue that fakers cover badges in so that you cant see the rear etc. Its just another tool in their cheating toolbox, like chemicals etc. regards |
It could just be very badly struck ?
Andy |
I think it looks ok.
|
I have to agree with Simon, there seem to be quite a number of these around at the moment, where did you get that particular example from?

Hi Frank
It came from the box of badges I bought which every single one is unusual and rare , I think it was the property of an advanced collector! Kind regards Chay |
I have no idea but the lugs appear to have feet which sets off alarm bells for me.
Cheers, Alex |
Alex
Many WW1 cap badges have feet you can see some can’t be seen but they must be there! Kind regards Chay |
