My question is, were these silver rising sun throat badges also worn during the second world war?

I have this one that is inscribed on the back with the date 21/6/45. And I guess the name of the person who wore it.

Silver Rising Sun badge was worn by members of the Australian army during the Second World War on there tie . Australian Army Nursing Service (AANS) sisters wore a silver badge, while servicemen wore a bronze-coloured badge.

Hello,

Was this worn in WW1?

Cheers
Rob

Yes, it was worn on the collar in front. It was a collar sized badge and was pin back. As I understand it in WW2 they wore both a silver one and/or a nickel version, but in WWI only silver.
