Remembrance day was observed today at the Upwey Belgrave RSL Sub Branch.

In Victoria we were limited to 10 people to attend remembrance services.

In accordance with the restrictions we had 7 attend the ceremony standing to at the Cenotaph to lay wreaths and to raise the flag.

However we also had about 50 members seated at tables in the sunshine enjoying morning tea as we are allowed to, as the service continued and standing an sitting as required.

Im sure that We did Remember them.

Lest we forget.

I usually go to the Cenotaph in London on Remembrance Sunday but this year I went to the local war memorial (situated in an old graveyard in the center of Uxbridge).

There were about 100 people , socially distanced , either around the memorial or in the street outside. A bugler played and wreaths were laid , including one from the RAF.

Today I went again , this time a low key ceremony (people at work) , 2 minute silence observed and the local clergy gave a blessing.

Well this is the first time in 37 years that I will not be on parade or even in uniform on Remembrance Day. We aren't even supposed to go to the very few parades that are happening. I will go visit my fathers grave who served 1938 to 1946 in North Africa Italy and Greece in REME. Both Grandfathers were in WW1.
