I've been trying to figure this one out for a while. I suspect it's a Fire Brigade...but could be wrong......

Just googled the motto "aimez verite" and that transfer seems quite popular on leather buckets?

Buckets?....water?....fire?....firemen!.....or possibly just branded buckets :-)

It's odd to have a CoA on a lid with nothing else to help us...

Thank you

There is a thread concerning this Coat of Arms on another Forum where it appeared on a Police truncheon, Link below for your perusal.

This old thread on another forum concerning a truncheon is quite illuminating.

Thank you both....'starting to look like it's associated with an area and not just a function (Fire / Police etc) perhaps....

I dont think you have grasped it yet!

It all points to being fake.

Derrrrr!...sorry guys, I get it now....all too subtle for me...next time say something like"This transfer crops up on everything from mugs to police truncheons and they're not old either". :-)

It's not in my collection which I guess is a good thing...but it can now be crossed off the "WTF List".

Thank you all again

Interestingly inappropriate motto for a fake coat of arms!

The lion in the crest is heraldically facing the wrong way.
