Thanks Rob,
I sent this message to the seller:- Hello, Sorry to say that this RE badge is a BODGE job. A other ranks badge with the centre cypher removed and a button, really badly, fixed in the middle. Worth a couple of quid if that. As a collector of RE badges I would NOT include this in my collection engr 9266 NO reply yet...... |

RE's
Jerry, the first badge I had was a KC GviR RE cap badge which I found in a drawer in my Grandparents house in 1952.
It was one worn by my Father, the former CQMS who I quote on my avatar, I promptly stuck it in my school blazer buttonhole and wore it to school, other kids followed my idea and I swapped them sweets and the like for their badges. The slippery slope followed . . ! Happy collecting to all. Rob |
One of my first badges was a RE one, found in my grandmother's garden in Brockley - an OSD finish slidered badge, cadged by my uncle when he was a kid during WWII from an anti aircraft unit on Hilly Fields.
