Honourable Artillery Company Shouler titles
The next issue of The Formation Sign, Journal of the Military Heraldry Society, now in preparation, will include a detailed article on the epaulette and shoulder titles of the HAC's Infantry.
This notes that in May 1968 the Army Dress Committee authorised a sliver anodised tile with the letters 'HAC' but three months later authorised the title to be chromium-plated metal. It seems unlikely that the anodised version was produced in such a short space of time and the article say that none have been found. But it's worth asking if anyone has an anodised version lurking in their collection... If you'd like a copy of the article you will have to be a member of the Society. Go to militaryheraldrysociety.com to find out how to join, Jon |
Yes, I have a pair of these titles in anodised aluminium. They have the usual round wire lugs.
They are silver anodised, however the anodising is not bright, but most definitely silver. |
