Hi, I picked up what I thought was a good badge, sweat hole behind the coronet, crimped slider but on closer inspection, I can see the remnants of what used to be ich Dien on the scrolls. Is it possible the badge has been altered. What are members thoughts on this.

A lovely genuine badge.

Do please let me know if you wish to move it on, I’ve been after the slidered version for a while as they’re more commonly found on loops. Have plenty good swaps available.

nice badge, lots of fakes about so good to see a good one, I only have one example as finding good ones seems quite difficult

Thanks very much for that Luke. I will bear that in mind, if I do move it on, you will be the first to know.
Regards, Jim.

It's the same as the one in Gaylor's book.

The dies were altered and many of these badges were made using the older "imperial" dies as in the case of the attached.
