Looking for pictures of South African troops in Madagascar 1942

Hello everyone,

I am looking for pictures of South African soldiers (officers too) taken during the Battle of Madagascar 1942. I've managed to find maybe four, but no more than that.

I concur there are not many around, if I recall there are a few in the Official history of First City. It was such a "side show" affair it has not seemed to have gained much interest in the collectors eyes. With that said it was important to secure the East Coast route around Africa against the Axis navies. The Allied forces also learnt a few lessons about amphibious operations during this Operation.

I suspect there must be hundreds of pictures in the Pretoria military repository, one just needs to access them. I will have a chat with a military researcher.

I do intend on buying the official history of the First City regiment some day or another, but until then, it would be delightful if you could talk to a military researcher for me.
