Edmonton Fusiliers 9th CEF Cap Badge

I have been searching for info on the Edmonton Fusiliers 9th CEF style cap badge and other that it being "very rare" or "elusive" I haven't found much data on it.

From what I have gleaned its a Post WWI badge but very limited run. But how rare is it and what would said cap badge be worth?

Hello Del, the badge is in the rarefied air. It is very difficult to find, the most likely source now being an older collection that is being broken up. It was a post 1920 militia re-organization badge, worn for a short time. A badge without the 9th inscription was authorized in 1929.
Valuation is one of those near impossible things to establish. It would depend on how the badge was offered and who was interested. Scarcity and demand play the key roles.

Thanks Bill, you are a wealth of knowledge. I lucked into a set, don't believe they are copies, but I've only seen the pictures, haven't had a chance to look closely at them yet. They look pretty good to me but I guess I'll know for sure when I see them. From the patina, it looks like they haven't been touched in about 100 years.

Yes, I was watching that auction. $950 Cdn is not out of line for a set of badges that rare.
