Another dud enamel badge being passed off as real?

Thoughts on this badge? Badge is probably OK but the enamel has been overheated and burnt, and not ground back as with other enamel badges; colour is so wrong it would have never passed a factory inspection; reminds me of other (home made) enamelled badges some time ago that were being passed off as genuine. What do you reckon - Brad?

I am with you on this one don't like the enamelling or its bad photos ??

"A 1908 - 1912 PERIOD ROYAL AUSTRALIAN ENGINEERS OFFICERS SLOUCH HAT BADGE.
Copper/bronze (patinated) with the legend and motto in a dark red/maroon enamel.
Lugged, both lugs present.
Issued/used condition.
Height; 45mm
A good clean original example of this scarce issue type."

This bloke might be part Bulgarian!!!

The enamel around the text looks wrong to me. Kind of like the other badges you have previously mentioned where authentic period ORs badges had enameling added to them to try and make them into more expensive officer badges?
