Remembrance Sunday

This headline on the BBC News website caught my eye :

Quote:

Remembrance Sunday: 'Don't erase' ethnic minorities

A musician has said it is important that ethnic minorities who served in the military are not "erased" from Remembrance Sunday events.
I found that statement odd as every year I have been at the Cenotaph all those who served have been remembered. Every year the high commissioners from Commonwealth countries each lay a wreath , in 2014 there were 46 high commissioners at the ceremony.

From the RBL website :
Quote:

The National Service of Remembrance, held at The Cenotaph in Whitehall on Remembrance Sunday, provides the nation with a physical reminder of all those that have served and sacrificed, with British and Commonwealth soldiers, sailors, airmen and women represented, together with members of the emergency services and civilians, ensuring that no-one is forgotten.
Services of Remembrance are also held in numerous other countries (including Barbados/Belize/Bermuda/India/Kenya/St.Lucia/South Africa) , either on Remembrance Day (11th November) or on Remembrance Sunday.

So , far from being "erased" I feel that 'ethnic minorities' are honoured and remembered and their service/sacrifice is something we will never forget.

"WE WILL REMEMBER THEM"

What do you expect? This is the BBC. Nuff said

It's why I won't watch anything on the BBC or several other media sources.

I've marched at the Cenotaph six times. Always behind us was a contingent from one of the Leander Class frigates. Several gentlemen of Caribbean background were part of, and fully integrated with, their shipmates. And were a merry lot to behold. And there were plenty of BAME paratroopers, marines... etc. etc.

This is the BBC trying to make a story out of a non-event. Like that chuffing idiot who - not on the BBC, but in a broadsheet - who tried to stir it up by saying that Gurkhas who fell at Gallipoli had been "deliberately" omitted from the British memorial. Except if he'd walked ALL THE WAY AROUND IT...

The BBC, as ever, is simply seeking to create a drama in the hope someone, preferably in authority, takes the bait and makes an unfortunate comment. It is time we all acknowledged the BBC for what it really is - in my opinion a once fine, respected and trusted organisation which has lost its way into the gutter. To my intense anger we cannot exercise our democratic right to refuse to pay the BBC tax without losing access to all free channels. Is this fair?

Inciting the Spanish-American War such journalism was termed "Yellow Journalism"....i.e. to quote a clown, "Fake News".

A silly statement, from a woke individual.

How upsetting! As an earlier poster put it, the BBC, a once fine, respected and trusted organisation has lost its way. Actually, I believe it was in fact, Lead astray by some VERY subversive characters. I’m speaking of those with a specific self agenda bent on promoting their anti social leftist ideology. The same has happened here in Canada. The CBC enjoys millions of tax payers dollars yearly and only seems to promote those ideals which were at one time illegal activities and anti social behaviour.

Today the BBC had an article:
Quote:

Nasa's Moon return pushed back to 2025
I posted a reply jokingly suggesting that by 2025 they would need a bigger ship to accommodate the various "equal rights" groups who would want to be included.

My post was "moderated" (deleted) as it 'broke their rules' , so I the posted the following :

Quote:

The article mentions "the first woman" and "the first person of colour" but when I jokingly posted that other "equality groups" may want to be included my post was deemed inappropriate and removed.
Guess what ?

This too was deemed inappropriate and removed ! :D

It appears that if you disagree with or even question their "unbiased" (politically correct) agenda they will censor you !
