SAAF Pilot. WW2 and early Post War Dress Jacket

Have had this one for a bit now. Very nice looking jacket.. Not sure if this is considered a Mess Dress or something different. Almost a tuxedo cut too it..

WW2 sevice medals as well a General Service medal with Malaya bar. The name in the neck of jacket is Hedges. this came out of Florida of all places. Is there a way to research this fellow? Thanks Jack

Looks like a made up uniform.
A white dinner jacket with SAAF wings, RAF shoulder boards and possibly a fictitious grouping of medals...

Just my observation.

Well that is surely possible. A peril of collecting here In the states. If that ends up the case the small wing will look great in my wing collection.

Yes, any pilot who qualified for a Malaya clasp GSM would have probably had to enlist in the RAF as the SAAF didn't fly there. If that was the case, I would expect a small RAF wing, not SAAF wing.
The small wing is a gem though, quite scarce.
As Steven says, the jacket doesn't look right!
Cheers,
Alex

Thank you Alex. The wing is nice and will now go into my wing collection.
